Earlier in the year I was delighted to be asked to take part in an Arts Council funded project based at The Art Yard in Old Hill, a fabulous local community run gallery where local artists can exhibit their work. The project is to produce 24 portraits of people who carry out volunteer work in the Sandwell or Dudley areas. Produced by different artists the work is going to be launched at the end of September at an event attended by the sitters and their families, the artists, and local dignitaries including both the Mayors of the Boroughs. After the launch night there will be an exhibition of the work at The Art Yard, before the work goes 'on tour' around various venues in the boroughs. I cannot publish the work I created, but I am pleased with how it came out. Watch for further details as the exhibition is launched.
