Seasonal Gloom

Every artist I have spoken to is struggling with getting back into a groove after the holiday season. January has been so wet and grey too it hardly inspires creativity. My workspace is at the bottom of the garden, about 9 degrees until I put the heating on, and when it is cold outside the water supply dries up. All hardly conducive to moving forwards. I am poised and ready to have another try at Polymer Photogravures. I have purchased all I need to reinstate the B&W darkroom and try out some Glass Dry Plates and Dry Plate Tintypes. I dont want to use a vintage camera as the images get reversed so will contact print them with negatives. And of course there I am still trying to master Colour Gum Prints (monotone ones are fine) and of course Cyanotypes on their own could keep me occupied.

So, plenty to do, just waiting for things (whatever they are) to fall in to place. I have two pieces in the RBSA Friends exhibition at the moment and am waiting on hearing from them about my three submissions for the RBSA Print Prize. Announcement due anytime now.....watch this space. Meantime hop over to my Galleries page and see what I have been up to.
