Spring....a Time of Change?

I am not the most frequent of poster of blog items.....sorry.... and the last few months have been a bit quiet anyway, being Winter, and adding a dose of apathy to my general mood. I have been printing recently, and have been exploring a few things too. I tried Polaroid Emulsion Lifts, using the Polaroid Lab, which kept me busy, and I have entered two into an upcoming exhibition of the Wolverhampton Society of Artists called 'Small Wonders' upcoming this month. I will be sure to try more of these. The printing I have done seems to have been a cathartic sort of sort through of what I do, and seeing what REALLY flicks my switches. I feel that I need to absolutely get stuck in to Gum printing again as this is where the passion lies. Cyanotypes are great, as are Salt Prints, albeit a long process, but Gums give me the most satisfaction (when they work anyway!). So it feels like that this period has been guiding me towards sticking with the things that I love doing, and maybe stop spending time thinking about other processes, most of which need more supplies, more experience, more testing, and more potential for failure. Most importantly filling my head with MORE, which is not what I need right now.
So.... watch this space..........
