Alchemy of Light!

One quick story. I decided on the name Alchemy of Light about 10 years ago. I felt the process was the perfect example of alchemy, requiring many things, including mystical dark arts, to come together to make the art that I do. It also helped that my name is ALan.

Fast forward to 2026 and I have been approached by Dr Peter Moseley, well known in the historic photo processes world, and he is involved in organizing a London exhibition to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the first photograph. No they werent asking me to show all my work there, but they had decided to call it 'Alchemy of Light' then realised that I hold that UK domain name. Fair play to them for being courteous enough to enquire if I minded them using a similar website address for the exhibition. While I couldnt really stop them, nor did I want to, it was great to be asked. Hopefully the connection may lead to some kind of involvement in the exhibition. I will be making up a sweatshirt for the show, something along the lines of 'The Original Alchemy of Light'!!
