Here we go again!

There must be something fundamentally wrong with me?? Dont answer that!! Why cant I just settle for one or two processes? Here we go again, with a Polymer Photogravure. We are into proper printmaking territory here, using a negative exposed with UV light onto a metal plate coated with a light sensitive surface. Washing it out 'etches' the image into the plate, which can then be printed using paper, inks and a press. I have access to a press, and this result is GORGEOUS. It doesnt tell the battle I have had to get a succesful plate made, involving making a new vacuum contact printing frame, which worked, and then didnt, and then did and then didnt again, wasting maybe £200 of plates (they are not cheap!). I am still not there and I have come across a variation of the process which is much cheaper, but will of course involve me heading down yet another rabbit hole and encountering no doubt many many more pitfalls. I will kep you posted as this is one process I am really keen to get along with, as the results are spectacular.
